About Albert Einstein Hospital
The hospital began operating in 1971. A few years passed and they became the largest hospital in Latin America. However, their dreams go further. They are also recognized and referenced in treatment with cutting-edge technology, humanized care and pushing boundaries through socially responsible actions, such as their collaboration with the São Paulo City Hall in the management of public health units, as well as in teaching and research.
The hospital's social responsibility work began in the 1960s, when the Pediatric Assistance offered free care to children in the São Paulo region. In 1997, the Paraisópolis community created the project to help 10,000 children from one of the poorest communities in the state. Today, in addition to this project and assistance to the Jewish community, the Institute works with public health managers to meet their assistance, technical or training needs.
He is currently leading important projects that demonstrate how public-private partnerships can bring results to communities, inspiring other institutions to expand their workforce to support health in Brazil.
The hospital's skills and knowledge serve not only patients in its eight units, but also in Greater São Paulo, Brazil and more than two dozen locations around the world. In the city of São Paulo alone, it manages 23 public units. In December 2015, in partnership with São Paulo City Hall, they took over another municipal hospital with 100% SUS service: Hospital da Vila Santa Catarina.
