About Vivo

Vivo is one of Telefônica Brasil's brands. It is a Brazilian retailer of fixed and mobile telephones, high-speed internet and satellite TV. The company was born out of a partnership between Spain's Telefónica and Portugal's Telecom, with the latter taking over management in July 2010 following the acquisition of the former's position.

The company was initially formed by the merger of mobile phone operators already operating in Brazil. The company currently operates 1,700 physical stores across the country. The company opened its first concept store, called "Wall Store", in São Paulo in September 2021. The difference is that customers can try out a variety of products and receive deliveries in up to four hours, according to estimates.

The GSM and 4G technologies used by Vivo are available in all Brazilian states. The operator is present in the state of São Paulo only on landlines. The rollout of Vivo's 4G network began in 2013. Approximately 30% of the country's cell phone market is held by the company, according to Anatel estimates. 95% of the Brazilian territory is served by Vivo, measured in relation to the operator's coverage area.
