About the Bom Jesus Group
The company's history begins in 1866 with the founding of the German School in Joinville, in the southern state of Santa Catarina. This history is intertwined with that of the city founded in 1851. However, the school was founded in 1926. In 1968, it became the property of the Evangelical Community. Through many chapters, the school now functions as an academy. It is one of the largest schools in the state of Santa Catarina and the largest Lutheran school affiliated to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brazil (IECLB).
The school's educational proposals emphasize the formation of an autonomous, creative, ethical, critical and committed agent in a constantly changing society. In this way, it develops self-governed citizens who can tread new paths with confidence. The school aims to promote an education that fosters active learning and student participation in the construction of knowledge.
They believe that it is not only the methodological strategies that are important, but also the pedagogical perspective of student learning. Therefore, the method will promote students' subjectivity, facilitate the structuring and expansion of knowledge, with mediation as its main function. The aim is to develop students' skills and abilities that will support creative writing in different fields, as well as addressing individual or collective situations and problems throughout their lives.
